Pricing

Because of the nature of Paradox Costumes, our costumes each have two prices: a base price and a final price. The base price is the total cost of estimated work-hours, new material purchases, and fees relevant to your costume. The final price is what you’ll pay once the costume is completed. This accounts for materials you’ve donated to the seamsters and adjustments on how many work-hours were actually put into the creation. Final prices are either the same as or less than the base price. You’ll never pay more than the estimated base price.

Our Process

Our costumes’ base prices are mainly based off their complexity (how many hours our seamsters will have to put into building it) and their size (how much material will have to be bought to create it). For example, something small and simple, like a cat-ear headband, may be base-priced around $15. If the fabric, foam, and headband base are provided, the final price could be as small as $8. On the other hand, large and complex costumes that account for multiple articles of clothing, such as a flamboyant-from-hat-to-boot pirate outfit, may have a base price as high as $500. Donating materials, or suggesting cheaper material alternatives, can reduce a price more severely to be more around the $100 range. Our seamsters are also quite creative with cardboard, making a gargantuan costume for a surprisingly small price.
